White Woman, Power, and Fear: The Deadly Consequences for Black Men

Dear Karen,
Once again, the murder of unarmed Black men has stolen the headlines. You know the names, even if you try to ignore them: George, Ahmaud, and countless others (men and women). You might feel comfortable ignoring these atrocities because you believe that “they” have nothing to do with “us.” Or, maybe you care but think this would all go away if we were all just colorblind. (Spoiler alert: It won’t.)
I am writing to you today with a plea to understand, challenge, and stop the dehumanization of Black people; boys and men in particular. I am going to argue hard. I am going to make you uncomfortable. And I want you to read to the end.
